What are Blood Types

Blood plays an important role for a vampire’s survival in V Rising. Players will need to be careful which creature’s blood they suck because each type of creature has a different blood type that will give you different temporary bonuses. V Rising blood types also has different qualities which will enhance the bonus that you receive.

How to Get Blood Bonuses in V Rising

In order to obtain blood in V Rising you will need to attack an enemy until their health is low. Once you have an enemy low enough the option to suck their blood will appear. The default key to perform the action is “F”. The feeding amination takes a few seconds so you will need to be aware of when you suck the blood of a victim. If you perform the action during the middle of a fight it could cost you your life. You are not invulnerable during the animation and can still receive damage and die.

You will be able to see the quality of blood listed as a “%” value below your target’s health bar. The higher the value the higher quality blood you will receive. An enemy with 100% will give you the maximum buffs for that buff category. The quality of blood a creature has is completely random.

If you kill an enemy and stuck their blood while you have an active blood buff you will override the active blood buff with a new blood buff. You need to be aware of the % value so you don’t override a strong buff with a weaker one.

The blood quality bonuses are broken up into 5 tiers. The last tier always grants a 30% boost to the previous tiers. The tier breakdown is as follows:

  • I: 1% – 29% blood quality
  • II: 30% – 59% blood quality
  • III: 60% – 89% blood quality
  • IV: 90% – 99% blood quality
  • V: 100% blood quality

V Rising Frailed Blood Type

Frailed blood type is the default type of blood when starting a new character. You will revert to frailed blood type upon death or respawning. When you consume a heart or a rat you will increase your blood pool of the frailed type. You will not receive any blood bonuses from consuming those items, but you will increase you blood pool when consuming them.
