Introduction

Welcome to our Diablo 4 Gear Guide! In this guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know about Equiping your character in Diablo 4 including the different Gear Slots, Quality, and Different Gear Affixes.

Gear Quality

There are currently 5 different qualities of gear in Diablo 4.

  • Common
  • Magic (1-2 Random Affixes)
  • Rare (2-4 Random Affixes)
  • Legendary (4 Random Affixes + 1 Legendary Aspect)
  • Unique (4 Set Affixes + 1 Unique Affix)

Gear Slots

In Diablo 4, every class has 5 general Armor Slots and 3 Jewelry Slots. Where each class differs, is its weapon slots. Below is a list of each class’s Weapon Slots as well as the general Armor and Jewelry Slots available in Diablo 4.

Weapon

  • Barbarian – Bludgeoning Weapon, Slashing Weapon, Dual-Wield Weapons 1 & 2
  • Druid – Weapon(1H or 2H), Off Hand
  • Necromancer – Weapon (1H or 2H), Off-Hand
  • Rogue – Ranged Weapon, Dual-Wield Weapon 1 & 2
  • Sorcerer – Weapon (1H or 2H), Off Hand

Armor

  • Helm
  • Chest
  • Gloves
  • Pants
  • Boots

Jewelry

  • Amulet
  • Ring 1
  • Ring 2

Gear Affixes

Like most Stats in Diablo 4, Gear Affixes Fall into 3 major categories

  • Offensive
  • Defensive
  • Utility

These Affixes can be found on certain types of gear depending on the Gear Slot. Below is a general breakdown of what Affixes can be found on each piece of gear. There are other Stat Categories such as Resource and Mobility that occur less often.

Along with these standard Affixes, some items also have more specific limitations to what affixes they can have. For example, Jewelry always comes with some sort of pure resistance to an Element, such as Fire Resistance. Below are the items that have a chance to roll specific affixes.

Armor

LEGS– While Injured, Potion also restores X% Resource
– While Injured, Potion also Grants X% Maximum Health as Barrier
BOOTS– + 1 Max Evade Charge
– Evade Briefly Grants X% Movement Speed
– Attacks reduce Evade’s Cooldown by X Seconds

Jewelry

AMULETX% All Resistances
RINGX% Elemental Resistances x2

Weapons

AXEX% damage to Healthy Enemies
BOWX% Damage to Distant Enemies
DAGGERX% Damage to Close Enemies
CROSSBOWX% Vulnerable Damage
MACEX% Overpower Damage
POLEARMX% Damage to Injured Enemies
SCYTHEX% Life On Kill
STAFFX% Damage to Crowd-Controlled Enemies
SWORDX% Critical Strike Damage
WANDX% Lucky HIt Chance

Off-Hand Affixes

FocusX% Cooldown Reduction
TotemX% Cost Reduction
ShieldX% Thorns
X % Blocked Reduction
80% Main Weapon Hand Damage

Upgrading Gear

Upgrading your gear helps improve the overall power of your character. Armor and weapons can be upgraded at the Blacksmith, while Jewelry is upgraded at the Jeweler. Upgrading your gear can be done with the material gained from salvaging your gear at the Blacksmith.. Below are charts that show which items you’ll need to upgrade to the next tier.

NOTE – Upgrading gear to the next tier will cost gold AND more of the previous Tier Materials.
